Pretty Good, Actually

A few hours ago I started cooking some Italian sausage.  The girls got all excited.  I guess that they really like Italian sausage.  Anyway, that started them in my face about what's for dinner.  A bit later I started the quick soak for some black eyed peas.  Love me some black eyed peas.  Let me just state that, at this point, I still really wasn't sure what I was going to make.  I was pretty much just pulling ingredients out and hoping for the best.

The final ingredient set Sophia off.  She had a knock down, drag out temper tantrum.  She doesn't like rice.  I need to make something else.  This is going to be awful.  I really just wanted to kill her and be done with it.  Eventually I told her that this was what was for dinner.  She could eat it or go hungry.  I wasn't going to make her something special.

So we ended with Spanish rice with black eyed peas and sausage.  I mixed everything together and added a bit of cheese for the girls.  Mine was minus cheese.  Sophia inhaled her first bowl.  She begged for a second.  The second bowl took about 2 minutes longer for her to eat, but still pretty much an inhale.  Next thing I know, she's heading back for a third bowl.  That was an awful lot of noise and drama for somebody that ended up eating three bowls of the hated dinner.  I'll have to remember to make this again.

Don't you just love that??? Pisses me off so much. I've finally started telling Kier she can eat whatever dinner is or get ready for bed.
